Built in 1771 as a private residence and converted in 1861 to a hotel used to house Civil War troops, Waterfront Hotel is the second oldest brick building in Baltimore and still retains its original character and structure on the picturesque row of waterfront buildings along Thames Street.
The business was discontinued as a hotel and converted back to a restaurant and tavern in 1955 as it remains today. Atlas is excited to continue Waterfront’s long history as a gathering place in the community serving excellent food and drinks.
“The Waterfront Hotel is a generational asset that is iconic to Baltimore and Fells Point,” said Atlas President & CEO Alex Smith. “We are thrilled to add this landmark to the Atlas portfolio and look forward to continuing to give guests everything they love about Waterfront, from the nightly live music to the popular weekend brunch.”
Atlas will keep the Waterfront Hotel name as well as continue to host live, local music 7 nights a week as that has been a staple in this concept for decades. Atlas’ culinary team looks forward to introducing a new and exciting gastropub food menu that will offer elevated dishes that pair perfectly with the local pub atmosphere.
