The owners of River Oaks District’s buzzy sister restaurants Ouzo Bay and Loch Bar are growing their Houston presence with a new Italian restaurant planned for Montrose.

The concept, as yet unnamed, will be one of the restaurant and retail tenants going into the Montrose Collective, 888 Westheimer, the new mixed-used project by Heights Mercantile developer Radom Capital. Atlas Restaurant Group, the Maryland-based hospitality group helmed by brothers Alex and Eric Smith, announced the project on Tuesday; it is slated to open spring 2022.

The new 225-seat Italian restaurant will be Atlas’ third Houston brand following the 2019 dual opening of Ouzo Bay and Loch Bar at 4444 Westheimer. At that time the Smith brothers had indicated their intent to open another concept in Houston.

“The success of Ouzo and Loch Bar, combined with the city’s business-friendly environment, made the decision to grow here an easy one,” Alex Smith said. “Frankly, we love Houston and plan to continue creating new brands here under the Atlas umbrella wherever it makes sense. And Montrose Collective made absolute perfect sense.”The owners of River Oaks District’s buzzy sister restaurants Ouzo Bay and Loch Bar are growing their Houston presence with a new Italian restaurant planned for Montrose.
