Atlas Restaurant Group, out of Baltimore, have had their eyes set on Houston for quite sometime and this summer landed two prime location in River Oaks District. Loch Bar and Ouzo Bar are standalone restaurants with only a few [key] things in common, great atmosphere, the highest quality seafood and impeccable service.

Loch Bar (5,000-square-foot) is where east coat charm and American speakeasy come together to create a modern seafood tavern. The Cape Cod feel shines through thanks to the shipwrecked, white-washed wood accents with contrasting brass fixtures, antique mirrors and the marble-and-penny tile floors with rich cherry trim. Its menu is full of classic, yet re-imagined, east coast dishes like the New England Lobster Roll, Maryland-style Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Grilled East Coast Oysters and more.

The speakeasy ambiance comes into play via, deep-tufted red-leather banquettes and its impressive beverage program. With over 400 whiskeys and signature cocktails there is something for everyone.

Once you have had a pre-dinner drink it is time to head next door to Ouzo Bay, the Mediterranean concept. From the menu to the decor, Ouzo Bay represents an authentic Mediterranean fare, due to their commitment to freshness, the team has fish flown in daily from around the globe. Curated picks include langoustines sourced directly from Norway, and jumbos prawns fresh in from Madagascar, Dover Sole from Holland and Bronzino from the Aegean.

The space is modern with many impactful coastal touches such as the canopy of whitewashed grapevines imported from Greece, Aegean blue accents and lush greens scattered throughout. Both concepts are elegant and sophisticated yet friendly and approachable.
