General Manager – Baltimore’s Classic French Steakhouse & Bistro Opening Soon

The Restaurant

The Atlas Restaurant Group presents Monarque, a French Steakhouse & Bistro located in Baltimore’s Harbor East. Monarque will showcase Baltimore’s performers, poets, actors and musicians.  The restaurant will be adorned with traditional French embellishments and the cuisine will feature French classics including a wide selection of cheeses and one of the largest French wine lists in town. Restaurant slated to open Spring of 2020; by joining us now you can ensure the best possible on-boarding experience!

The Role

The General Manager’s primary responsibility is to create an uncompromising dining and entertainment experience. The GM serves as the top executive for the restaurant and has the overall responsibility for managing both the revenue and cost elements of the venue’s income statement.  The GM ensures employees are treated as the internal guest, thereby ensuring the best possible hospitality for our guests. 

Other duties of the GM include directing the daily operations of the venue, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operations, managing customer relations, venue maintenance and repair, inventory management, employee relations, recruiting and retaining the team, financial accountability and ensuring the highest quality services are delivered to each guest. The GM will provide excellent leadership to the team and will support and guide in the implementation and executing of all Corporate Policies and Procedures.

The Requirements

As a General Manager we would love you to have:

  • A strong background in French cuisine and wine
  • Knowledge and experience within the food and nightlife industry
  • Food and Beverage experience in a related field, with at least 5 year in a Managerial role
  • Effective decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources policies and US Employment laws
  • Ability to work long and flexible hours
  • Certifications as required to comply with government regulations and health codes, i.e., food safety and alcohol awareness, alcohol certification, etc.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and Profit and Loss analysis (P&L)
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree desirable
